The tile is now installed in the kitchen. The stainless steel hood is in place where the stoves will go. The serving island is now

July 23, 2009
Work continues on the lodge building. The electricity is finished. Following considerable difficulty stripping the kitchen floor to bare
concrete it is finally ready for the new tile. The ceiling is in place ready to texture and paint. The bare block walls in the hallway
along the store rooms and in the kitchen have received their first prime coat and are ready for paint.
The cabinets are in place in the dining room and are being stained over the next week. Electricity has been run to the new permanent
serving island. A display cabinet for the Bethel is built and awaiting staining. A display wall for the Star is finished and stained.
What remains is to repair and repaint the walls in the dining area and texture and paint the ceiling in the serving area.
As the interior nears completion we'll be turning our attention to the exterior. That has proven complicated but will be finished. Here

June 16, 2009
This was our first work night, launching the lodge remodeling for the brothers in general. Sixteen brothers answered the call, plus two
friends of the lodge interested in joining us. Over the previous weekend everything portable was removed from the kitchen and dining
area and placed in the lodge room which, as one brother observed, now resembles the final scene from the movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Walls were torn out, all of the cabinets removed, the false ceiling taken out of the kitchen and much more. All that remains is to remove
the floor in the kitchen before remodeling can begin. Next week an experienced crew will get the electrical work done so we can move
to the next stage. Check the website at Events to see the schedule.
It was a wonderful beginning. As another brother said, "There's no turning back." Here are some photos. Sorry for the poor quality.
