Wayfarer's Lodge has been a pillar of our community for over 50 years. In that time our facility has grown significantly, starting out as a one-room clubhouse and growing incrementally to its present day form. In that same period of time our adjacent community has grown and changed just as significantly. What started out as a quiet, friendly neighborhood on the north side of town has changed and today faces the problems of many inner-city neighborhoods.

Over the years our building has aged and has become more and more expensive to maintain. We can no longer make structural changes to the building, having reached both the capacity of the property and having become a non-conforming property per zoning quidelines. Additionally, the parking issues that have always faced our lodge still remain a major obstacle to our growth as a Masonic body.

As a consequence, in 2007 Wayfarers reached the decision to explore the possibility of relocating the lodge. A committee chaired by Bro. Jeff Tench has been appointed to that end and now meets regularly. The area under consideration is from Peoria Avenue north to Deer Valley Avenue, 35th Avenue west to 51st Avenue. Future meetings and developments will be reported here.

We welcome the comments and support of all lodge brothers who are invited to attend committee meetings.
